Rebecca Wincek Bateson, O.D.

Dr. Rebecca Wincek Bateson is originally from Clymer, Pennsylvania. After graduating from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree in Natural Science, she went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.  She enjoys spending quality time with her husband Kermit, their 3 year old twins Wil and Lira, their dogs Ben and Sam, and spending time outdoors.

While in professional school, Dr. Wincek Bateson's residency experience included specializing in pediatrics at the Hellerstien and Brenner Vision Center in Englewood, Colorado; an ocular disease rotation at the Laurel Eye Clinic inAltoona, Pennsylvania; a hospital rotation at the Veterans Association Hospital in Lebanon, Pennsylvania; and a low vision rotation at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although she enjoys pediatrics most, her other specialties include ocular disease diagnosis and treatment for glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, allergy eyes and dry eye treatment. In addition, Dr. Wincek Bateson performs LASIK consultation and screenings. She is affiliated with TLC LASIK Vision Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and The Laurel Eye Clinic Surgery Center in Brookville, Pennsylvania. Having had LASIK herself in 2002, she welcomes any and all questions that you may have concerning the procedure. She will perform all pre and post-op visits for your LASIK experience.

Melissa Hummel, O.D.

Dr. Melissa Hummel was raised in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, attended Central Cambria High School and graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 2003. She proceeded on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed her Doctorate of Optometry in 2007.

Dr. Hummel is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. She is also a member of three national honor societies including, Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, Omikron Delta Kappa Honor Society and Golden Key Honor Society. Dr. Hummel has a passion for community service and giving back to the community through volunteer work including participating in the Special Olympics and the InfantSee Program.

Currently residing in the Ebensburg area with her husband, Ethan, and their two dogs, she enjoys many outdoor activities including running and biking. As the weather dictates indoor activities are also enjoyed such as crochet and playing the piano.
